Jamaica Kincaid - The autobiography of my mother

Another one of those books I was assigned to read for its racy Postcolonial quality. And it had that definitely. Another nice aspect was the language: very clear, poetic prose throughout, thus giving the book a nice narrative drive. However, in the end I wasn't that much impressed. Sorry Jamaica, but I don't suppose I'll ever read another book of yours again. Liked this one though.
