On the Contemporary Literature list of 4 years ago, but never read it. Once again, that list proves to be a good one, since White Noise was an excellent novel. It's a quirky story from the Eighties, but even without Internet and cell phones it still strikes as very modern; about the digital age, with information and communication everywhere. The plot didn't seem so important. It reads as a series of more or less connected episodes that in themselves are usually amusing, but also sometimes deep and insightful. Should like to read Falling Man next.

NB. I did read Falling man some time later, but was disappointed. Interesting images and thoughts, no readability.
