I know now I was too young when I first read these stories about 5 years ago. I remembered bits and pieces, but only one story stood out then, "A perfect day for bananafish". I guess I was more tuned in now, because this time every story managed to capture my attention. I could appreciate the quality of Salinger's writing much better; his witty dialogues, but also his subtle way of introducing a sadder note. Some are more, some are less tragic, yet they all make you quiet when you finish them. I'm now ready to complete Salinger's oeuvre one of these days.
