Luc Sante - Low life

A great chronicle of (mostly) 19th century New York; am glad I listened to the St. Mark's bookshop people on this one. Reminded me of Geert Mak in the way that it's an excellent mix of entertainment and knowledge. I really felt I learned a lot, while becoming inspired throughout the book as well. I'm beginning to enjoy non-fiction more and more these days.
